From aid to agriculture, from dependency to self-reliance.
Junub Adik Foundation is a community-driven organization working to build practical agricultural solutions in South Sudan, starting with a community farm in Buthok Rou, Rumbek East County, Lakes State.
Rooted in Buthok Rou, built for lasting community resilience.
Junub Adik Foundation was born from a personal story and a responsibility that could no longer be ignored.
Our founder, Kaman Manyang, was born in Buthok Rou, Rumbek East County, Lakes State, in a rural community rich in culture, shaped by resilience, hard-working people, and a deep connection to the land.
Growing up, he witnessed families struggle through seasons of food shortages. He saw mothers carrying the responsibility of feeding households with very little support, and young people willing to work but with no clear path to do so.
Years later, after leaving home to study and now living in Morocco, that reality stayed with him. It became a responsibility. The belief behind the foundation is simple: our communities do not need dependency. They need support to build sustainable systems, infrastructure, and institutions that allow them to produce, work, and stand on their own.
South Sudan has land capable of feeding its people, but local production still lacks support.
Many farmers still rely on small rain-fed plots without improved inputs, practical training, equipment, or formal market opportunities. Production remains low, communities continue to depend on external food aid, and markets import what could be grown locally.
Every climate shock makes families more vulnerable. Every missed farming season weakens local skills. This is why we are starting with agriculture as a foundation for dignity, work, and long-term resilience.
The Community Farm
This is not only a farming project. It is a practical model for local production, youth employment, farmer learning, and community ownership.
50+ Acres
The community has donated more than 50 acres of land to begin the farm.
Local Crops
The farm will focus on sorghum and groundnuts, crops suited to the local environment.
Youth Work
The project expects to engage 15 to 25 young people directly in farming activities.
Training Space
The farm will include demo plots where practical farming methods can be shared.
The foundation is in place. What remains is funding to begin operations.
$3,500 to launch the farm.
These funds will support land clearing, planting inputs, tools, labour, training, logistics, and early operations during the rainy season.
Donate NowBuilding systems communities can sustain themselves.
Our goal is not to create dependency. Our goal is to support communities with the tools, structures, training, and opportunities needed to produce food, create work, restore dignity, and strengthen local resilience.
We will share regular updates, photos, and progress as the project moves from land preparation to planting and beyond.
Support the Community FarmHelp launch the community farm in Lakes State.
Your donation supports land clearing, seeds, tools, local labour, farmer training, transport, and early farm operations. This is the first step toward building a self-sustaining agriculture model for the community.
“Your support is not just helping to plant crops. It is helping to create a foundation, a system where young people can work, communities can produce, and families can rely on their own efforts.”
